The AFS Connect technology from Case IH is now available on the company’s largest line of tractors, the Steiger series. This high-tech, high-horsepower family of tractors was introduced at the 2020 Commodity Classic in San Antonio, Texas.

“This tractor sets a new standard for what connectivity and productivity can mean to a farming operation without sacrificing the power, durability, and efficiency that Steiger tractors are known for,” says marketing manager Mitch Kaiser. Here’s a look at the new machine on the inside and out.

Case IH emphasizes the simple, easy-to-use connectivity of the new tractor. The AFS Connect system includes three key components: the AFS Pro 1200 display, the AFS Vision Pro operating system, and the AFS Vector Pro receiver.

The AFS Pro 1200 display was designed to provide excellent visibility in all conditions including bright sunshine and night. The touchscreen display can show up to four exterior camera feeds for extra visibility. The tractor can also be paired to a mobile device with Bluetooth. Farm managers can remotely view the display and connect with operators.

Kaiser explains, “The AFS Pro 1200 display is a game changer in the cab. You can push, swipe, and scale just about everything you see on the display.”

The AFS Vision Pro operating system was designed to be easy to use and similar to a smartphone or tablet. It allows farmers to configure the tractor with a rotary dial or touch screen.

The AFS Vector Pro reciever streamlines guidance correction options, ranging from base (WAAS and AFS 1) to medium (AFS 2) to high (RTK and AFS RTK+) accuracy levels and has improved guidance.

Case IH also designed this tractor to be more comfortable. The ergonomic armrest has eight control buttons, and the multifunction handle has four programmable hot keys and an encoder knob.

Luxury leather seats with ventilation are standard in the Case IH AFS Connect Steiger. The driver seat swivels 40-degrees. The cab features industry leading suspension, plus totally new heating and air conditioning.
