Unverferth Manufacturing has purchased Force Unlimited, manufacturer of Pro-Force fertilizer spreaders. Pro-Force has both pull-type and truck-mounted application products. Models are available in seven sizes ranging from 14 feet to 26 feet in length. The acquired product line includes single- and multi-bin models with adjustable spinners designed to provide uniform application of granular fertilizers, cover crop seed, poultry litter, and compost.
To resist oxidation, all Pro-Force spreaders are built with 304 stainless steel. Precision-machined parts are designed to deliver accurate application of variable-rate prescriptions.
“As an established, highly regarded company, Unverferth Manufacturing has demonstrated its sincere desire to grow the Pro-Force line with expanded distribution and continued new product development,” says Force Unlimited founder Stan Duncalf. “It will also provide the added manufacturing capabilites for continued sales growth and maintaining high-quality manufacturing and aftermarket support for the products I have nurtured for the last 17 years.” As part of the acquisition, Duncalf will join the Unverferth staff in a product research and development role.
President Larry Unverferth added, “We look forward to continuing the success of Stan’s innovative single- and multi-bin spreaders and expanding his vision to make the best, most innovative lineup of dry fertilizer spreaders for greater crop yields while reducing the environmental impact. This addition complements our current fertilizer application products and provides Unverferth with a complete lineup for agricultural retailers and farmers.”
Now, Pro-Force spreaders will be manufactured in Shell Rock, Iowa, by Unverferth. The company plans to keep the Pro-Force name, says Dan Fanger, vice president of sales and marketing.
Rounding Out Unverferth’s Fertilizer Application Offerings
Fanger explains this acquisition rounds out the company’s fertilizer application offerings. “Unverferth has had a liquid fertilizer applicator know as the NutriMax. We’ve had that for four, going on five years. Then we acquired Blu-Jet. We did not have a dry applicator, so this gives us a direction on dry applicators to enhance Stan’s line and grow it from there.”
