Why do you have to water a garden that has newly planted seeds?

You have to water a garden with newly planted seeds for a few crucial reasons:

* Germination: Seeds need moisture to sprout. The water softens the seed coat, allowing the tiny sprout (radicle) to emerge and begin growing roots.

* Root Development: The developing roots need moisture to grow and absorb nutrients from the soil. Without sufficient water, roots will struggle to develop, hindering the plant's ability to establish itself.

* Nutrient Uptake: Water is essential for plants to absorb nutrients from the soil. Water dissolves the nutrients, making them available to the plant's roots.

* Temperature Regulation: Water helps regulate the soil temperature, keeping it cool enough for seeds to germinate and young seedlings to thrive.

Think of it like this:

Imagine a seed as a tiny sleeping baby. It needs a warm blanket (soil) and a little drink (water) to wake up and start growing!
