Plans for the “world’s first” land-based lobster farm have been revealed

A Norwegian Lobster Farm claims to be the world’s first firm to produce market-sized lobsters on a land-based fish farm.Their modern facilities employ recycling aquaculture technology (RAS), as well as advanced robots, computer vision systems, and continuous and autonomous monitoring system.

This Norwegian Lobster Farm produces lobsters that are 20 cm long and weigh approximately 250 grams, which is somewhat less than the minimum size requirement for wild-caught lobsters.

According to NLF, land-based lobster farming is undoubtedly difficult, but the market prospects are tremendous, especially given Europe’s diminishing lobster population, so this creates a good opportunity for growth as the demand is high.
