Do plants need food to grow?

Yes, plants need "food" to grow, but they don't eat it in the same way animals do. Here's why:

* Plants are autotrophs: They make their own food through a process called photosynthesis.

* Photosynthesis: This process uses sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to produce glucose (sugar), which is their food source.

* Nutrients: Plants also need essential nutrients from the soil like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These nutrients help with growth, development, and overall health.

So, while plants don't eat like animals, they still require energy and nutrients to grow, which they obtain through photosynthesis and from the soil.
