Notes

Try growing different varieties from seed to explore differences in leaf color and type. Most early-maturing cabbage varieties produce smallish heads.

Harvesting

Cut heads when they reach the size you prefer. Small secondary heads often grow from the base of early cabbage plants after the primary head is cut.

Troubleshooting

Watch for green imported cabbageworms, the larvae of the cabbage white butterfly. Exclude the adults with row covers.
