List of schemes and subsidies for aquaculture

These are the list of the subsidies and schemes available for the aquaculture.

  1. Centrally sponsored scheme on Blue revolution

The centrally sponsored scheme on Blue revolution under the integrated development and management of fisheries the state and central subsidies include-

  1. Development of Freshwater Aquaculture (FFDA’s) on going Component

This includes the following subsidies under the FFDA’s scheme.

Under the Blue revolution inland fisheries scheme, the Government of India, the list of subsidies available with an outlay of Rs.50 crores are mentioned below-

  1. NABARD Scheme for aquaculture

In order to encourage the farmers and low income people where they can get the subsidy of 60-70% of the recurring cost is for feed in any type of aquaculture unit and especially in brackish water shrimp farming.The farmers are relying on compounded feed which has a price range of ` 45- 50 per Kg which is very costly. Hence NABARD provides subsidy to encourage feed formulations in order to avoid the usage of locallyavailable ingredients.

The following criteria are required to select farmers or entrepreneurs to avail the above subsidiesand specially inconsidering the creation of infrastructure facilities for rearing spawn/fry to fingerlings in earthen ponds:

Eligibility criteria for availing aquaculture loans

All the farmers and fisherman having knowledge in aquaculture can apply for these loans.

Interest rate

The interest rate for these loans is 12% per annum and the amount of loan sanctioned is 15 to 25% of the project cost.

Repayment period

The repayment period varies from bank to bank and generally the period and is of maximum 48 months.

Collateral need to submit for availing loan

If you want to avail this loan above 1 lakh then you need to submit a collateral of land documents for mortgage, whereas the loan amount availed is below Rs. 1 lakh then no need of any mortgage.

Documents required for aquaculture loans and subsidies

The below are the documents required for availing the subsidies and loans for aquaculture. These include-

  1. Duly filled application form for concerned subsidy or loan which you are going to avail.
  2. ID proof which can be a PAN card, Voter ID card, Aadhar card, Driving license, or passport.
  3. Two passport size photograph of the individual who is availing the loan or the scheme.
  4. Address proof of the individual which includes Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, or Passport.
  5. Village map showing the location of the aquaculture unit.
  6. Source of income such as own income, etc.
  7. Project report approved by MPEDA
  8. Declaration form that he/she has not availed subsidy from any other source.

Aquaculture License Requirement in India.

The licenses and permits required to establish aquaculture are-

  1. EPA permit,
  2. State aquaculture professional license,
  3. No Objection certificate from concerned agriculture department or revenue authorities,
  4. Certificate of compliance,
  5. Food handler’s certification,
  6. Transport vehicle license,
  7. Name of the company registration papers,
  8. Insurance of the company,
  9. Permission from Food commission etc.
