What animals butt their heads together so hard that hooves fall off?

There is no animal that butts its head so hard that hooves fall off. This is a myth or a misunderstanding of how animal behavior works.

Here's why:

* Hooves are strong: Hooves are made of keratin, the same material as human fingernails, and are designed to withstand a great deal of force.

* Head-butting is for dominance: Animals like mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and musk oxen use head-butting as a display of dominance, not to intentionally inflict harm.

* Hooves can be damaged: While hooves are strong, they can be damaged by injuries, infections, or poor hoof care. However, this is not a direct result of head-butting.

If you have seen or heard something that suggests this is true, it's likely an exaggeration or a misunderstanding.
