What are the 4 important things to consider while planning your garden?

Here are 4 important things to consider while planning your garden:

1. Sunlight: This is crucial for most plants. Determine how much sunlight your garden receives throughout the day. Different plants have different sun requirements (full sun, partial shade, full shade), so choose plants accordingly. You can even utilize shade cloths or reflectors to modify your garden's light conditions.

2. Soil: Get to know your soil. Test its pH, texture, and drainage. These factors heavily influence which plants will thrive. You might need to amend your soil with compost, fertilizer, or other materials to create a suitable environment for your desired plants.

3. Water: Consider how you'll water your garden. If you have access to a water source, will you be watering by hand or using a sprinkler system? How often will you need to water? Some plants require more frequent watering than others.

4. Space and Design: Think about the size and shape of your garden. Do you have a small balcony, a backyard, or a large plot of land? What style of garden do you envision? (Formal, cottage, wildflower, etc.) Consider the flow of foot traffic, and how you'll access different areas.

These are just a few of the many things to consider. Don't be afraid to experiment and learn as you go. Happy gardening!
