What is the planting season for chives?

Chives can be planted in spring or fall.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

* Spring: Plant chives after the last frost has passed and the soil has warmed up. This is usually around April or May in most areas.

* Fall: Plant chives in September or October before the ground freezes. This gives them time to establish roots before winter.

Note: Chives are generally considered a cool-season crop, meaning they prefer cooler temperatures. In very hot climates, you may need to plant them in the fall or grow them in a shady spot.
