Directions:
1. To begin, you want to cut the pool noodle into a 1-2 inch segment. I love using serrated knives for this because they make clean and even (not to mention easy) cuts.
2. Once you cut the pool noodle into the segment, you can then slice it in half. This makes the marker lighter and helps it apply to the craft stick easier.
3. Take the half slice segment and write the name of the plant you wish to identify on it. The Sharpie marker is perfect for this!

4. You can now apply a generous amount of craft glue to the end of the wood craft stick. Press the pool noodle segment to the glue and hold it in place until dry.

One thing I love about these pool noodle garden markers is I make them with various colored pool noodles. For my little kids who can’t read yet, I can send them out to pick herbs based on the color of the marker. It works like a charm! For example if I need dill, I tell them to look for the orange marker. They then start to identify the word with the plant, and also they enjoy being able to independently pick herbs themselves.
