SKORPION 280 RBG is the smallest produced by Teknamotor drum-type chipper with a chain feeder meant to cooperate with a min. 60 HP farm tractor (540 rpm).
Large loading table, 265 mm wide and 190 mm high inlet allows chipping branches with offshoots (with leaves and needles) as well as a round timber of the diameter up to 180 mm.
A sector-type drum with three cutting knives (one rotation of the drum for one full cut) allows to achieve a very high potential of the chipper with a relatively low power of the tractor. Knives – produced out of special alloy steel and properly heat treated - can be sharpened several times – even 20 mm of the nominal size, assuring theirs long-term use.
As a standard, the chipper is equipped with a speed control of feeding which allows production of chips in the range of 5 – 25 mm in length. With this solution the Client can produce small chips which – after further processing on hammer mills – can be used to produce briquettes or pellets.
The chipper has a three-point suspension system and is designed for collaboration with a 60 hp farm tractor.
The essential equipment of the chipper includes a hydraulic propulsion system that drives the feeding rollers and is driven by its own hydraulic pump (tractor only used as a chipper drive unit). There is also a possibility of equipping the chipper with a unit for receiving the hydraulics from the tractor. Standard models also have a lever system of the hydraulic divider that can change the direction of the feeding rollers.
The chipper is also additionally equipped with an electronic system of work control, protecting the machine against excessive duty through temporary stopping the feeding.
This chipper is directed to demanding clients who need high quality chips of uniform fraction. The main customers are growers of energetic willow.
Chips made by Skorpion 280 RB can be used as a solid fuel for heating in buildings (burning in ovens/stoves), as raw material to produce compost, for decorative purposes in gardens, parks, etc., and after additional disintegrating in a mill for production of pellets and briquettes.
