The Jiffypot R2 is specifically designed for uses where the pot is expected to stand up for an extended period of time. Think of different retail situations, aggressive rooting nursery crops that are overwintered in a cold frame, hydroponic crops, such as herbs and lettuce, where the end product is sold as a living plant with the pot in a sleeve.
Jiffypot R2 has kept most of the original ’Jiffypot’ characteristics, using peat and wood pulp as main ingredients, keeping its ‘home compostable’ promise intact.
It is the addition of an extra characteristic that makes sure the pot stays dry, even when exposed to water or a humid substrate.
The pot will keep its rigid shape longer, is sturdier, as well as keeps a clean look and touch.
The R2 pot staying dry under production, will persist for a period of time long enough to maintain its rigidity and clean surface to produce herbs, bedding plants or any other plant to be sold at retail in a 100% biodegradable container. Total period the R-2 pot keeps it shape depends on ambient humidity, irrigation, substrate and temperature crops are grown.
Jiffypot R2 is available in more than 30 different sizes and designs, is 100% degradable and nontoxic, providing growers with an economical alternative to plastic and other bio-like containers.
The pot can be used in automatic dispensing equipment, as well as being automatically spaced due to keeping its rigidity.
